These words you wrote are so inviting, and necessary: “If you’ve ever felt torn between your heart and your beliefs—if your mind is full of questions but your soul still longs for Jesus—you don’t have to choose between faith and honesty. There is another way forward.”
I was raised similar in small town NC. And having lived alongside you and Betsy in our early married, first child days, your words resonate with my journey since those days. I look forward to the conversation here!
Vance, I look forward to following along with your writings and thoughts. You may remember that I did not become a believer in Christ until I was 43. I was raised in a fine Methodist church and my parents and most everyone I knew in that little town went to church. But when I took religion classes in college, I realized I had too many doubts and became what I considered a "sincere agnostic." I won't get into now how that changed to a deep belief in Christ, but suffice it to say it's a dramatic, hope-filled story. Hope to see you again soon.
A journey with no regrets, and I pray your son will find/rediscover Jesus Christ as well. Although I married a software engineer, God soon called him to the ministry. All our sons have ever known is that Daddy is a preacher. You probably know that Currie Tilley and Doug Bartee are in ministry as well as Marc Francis who was in the class before us and my brother, Mike Davis who is 2 years behind us. This is a link to my husband’s SoundCloud with many of his lessons & sermons. I’ll also tag you on his FB page as he does a daily devotion and posts sermons. As a reformed believer, he covers the topics you listed and many, many more.
Glad you are doing this, friend. I am in.

Following along my friend!
On this journey with you my friend.
